In the United States today, more than 65% of total medicines consumed are derived through ancient herbal preparations known to witches.  The word medicine itself reflects and capacity of wise women who prepared plants which provided healing for others. 

People who are just beginning witchcraft don't have the understanding or the ability to actually practice medicine, but witchcraft is the belief system which is outstripping all others in popularity.  It is expected that young people who are practicing witches may soon be preparing for degrees in medical fields and thus improve the chances of being healed through witchcraft as well as more mainstream means and medications.

Modern scientists have documented the term called the placebo effect.  When some people receive healing from illnesses which in some cases are considered terminal illnesses after being given a pill made of sugar rather than the test drug, the healing is due to the placebo effect.  Others would say that they were healed by faith, the patient believed that they would be healed due to the medication, and so they were healed, in spite of the fact that they received no medication.  So, faith regardless of whether the faith comes from belief in the drug, belief in God or belief in witchcraft.

Magick spells do not work always, even amongst skilled users of witchcraft, any more than modern medicine always works.  However magick does produce positive results at a rate higher than chance.

There is a great deal of usage of products that in the past would have been considered the result of a magick spell.  For instance, lighting a match or a lighter uses principles of alchemy similar in effect to a witch causing fire to appear from nowhere. Other magick spells require preparation and practice for years to do them successfully.

There are amazing myths, legends and stories of witchcraft accomplishing supernatural feats from every society on earth.

Wicca is the most prevalent form of witchcraft today.  It has only one principle or law by which wiccans live, to harm no one.  Witch doctors practice this principle.  This principle is reinforced by the threefold law which says whatever form of magickal power you send out into the world will be returned three times three to you.  It is always important to send energy which is both loving and positive.

Witch doctors can be certified by themselves or by others in order to perform ceremonies which are legal under any other religion in the state where the ceremonies is performed.   This includes not just healings, but officiation as processions, circles, handfastings, baptisms, weddings, annulments, divorces, funerals, affirmations holy days and other rituals. The certificate can be ordered from the internet and be signed by you, by the organization that issues the certificate, or by the local god or goddess.  It requires an agreement to follow the law of 'Do No harm."  The certificate as a witch doctor is a way of letting others know about your belief system, as well as to add confidence in your training and experience.
