Witchcraft MagickAt the same time as it is a tradition going back into the mists of history, witchcraft is changing constantly because it is a reflection of those who practice it.  There is no central holy book or one rule book to provide guidance to those who are witches.  Witchcraft is a balanced spirituality which develops both communication with the whole of nature and prayerful oneness with the gods.  A witch can always find room to develop and lessons to be learned.  Witchcraft is a constant searching for fresh insight and deepening personal practices of witchcraft.

Most witches believe that a daily observation is important to deepen spirituality.  The goal being not to inform but to transform, daily observation helps to ground one in the presence of the interconnected and vibrant universe.  Daily celebrations of Nature's cycle will lead to better understanding of one's place in the big picture.

Often, witches will start and end the day with a greeting to each element and direction and to the gods.  Those who prefer ceremonial observations may recite the Lesser Banishing Ritual.  Gardnerian Wiccans may choose to proclaim the Charge of the Goddess.

Witchcraft today is made up of many traditions.  Witches believe that the practice of their craft is just one of many paths and including the use of myth, symbolism and ritual in the daily celebration helps to understand the composition of the magickal universe.

Studying about other paths such as Islam, Santeria or Hinduism at a level that will allow one to experience the benefits of the other path will add richness and emphasis to your own walk. Another experience may work better for you than does witchcraft.

It's important to meet together with and support others who are of the same mind.  A sense of community provides comfort and strength when times are uncertain and provides experience in mutual compassion.  Particularly during the teen years, many witches are troubled by a lack of community.  Solitary practice may be desirable in some instances, or perhaps is just the way the particularly path for you is developing, but often, finding others to relate to is a function of searching in the correct locations.

Often, finding a pagan group in your location and becoming involved will be enough to meet the human search for community.  If there are no groups at present, be the witch who gets one started.  You may be pleasantly surprised at the number of others who share your interests and would like to be part of a group of caring friends. Sharing common beliefs and variances will help you to solidify your own experiences into a cohesive whole.

Witchcraft MagickBecoming an activist about a cause that excites you is part of changing your own life.  The time you spend on the issue, whether politics, environmentalism, or animal rights can be considered to be a offering of the gods. Becoming active means involvement in the world you live in which changes it and changes you.  It also helps you to refine and solidify your beliefs about the world.
